Is There Room For a Second NHL Franchise in Toronto 5

Word all the time is the fact that some higher ups during the NHL group of friends think Toronto has exploded enough where it is usually sufficiently big to help two teams. I, for one, think they can be right. For a long time the NHL has become planning to grow the action and expand their presence in the states, trying to compete against such heavyweight sports as NFL football, Baseball, NBA basketball, and Nascar. At this point, the results are actually below awe-inspiring. Hockey seriously isn't an area of the culture in the world. Apart from just a few hockey hotbeds like Minnesota, Philadelphia and Detroit lawn-bowling outdraws hockey on any given Saturday afternoon. For Canadians, who live, breathe and eat hockey, this continued focus by NHL in an attempt to grow the experience on the south, while all but ignoring expansion possibilities here appears to have been frustrating. In your 90s we watched 2 popular Canadian franchises in Winnipeg and Quebec fall by the wayside. Even so the NHL didn't deem those franchises viable we've watched them give their full support to franchises in the states including the Carolina Hurricanes which have trouble filling half their building on many nights, even with recently won a Stanley Cup.If Gary Bettman and also the remainder of the NHL brass would pay additional care about the bread and butter a natural part of their fanbase and peruse towards potential expansion within Canada their revenue prospects has got to be a lot more encouraging. Cities like Winnipeg and Hamilton could certainly support an NHL franchise, current huge size town of Toronto plus the rabid hockey fans contained within, it is certainly no stretch to imagine that this city could easily support a second team. The Leafs perhaps may not think itrrrs great so much, they also cannot are having issues filling their building, and selling their team merchandise. An extra team could actually allow newer, younger hockey fans in Toronto the chance get and discover a live without selling a kidney towards the privilege. Just what a novel concept.Get the job done current rumblings are correct or dead, it might behoove Bettman as well as the other NHL bigwigs to significantly look at the idea. The Toronto Maple Leafs pull in extra money than any other franchise, including Bettman's darling Big apple Rangers. Another team in Toronto would only swell the NHL coffers further. That when little else should have the attention of Gary Bettman plus the NHL.

  1. When you say the word 'Franchise', most people immediately think of business-based franchises like those that are top listed in popular business magazines every year. But, it is important to remember that there are hundreds and thousands of franchises out there, some that are spectacularly successful, others that are total failures. Obviously, you want to avoid the latter.
